Fees

I offer discounts to repeat clients

Fees

Whenever possible, I offer a set fee for notarising documents. I also offer discount for repeat documents serviced at the same time and to repeat clients.

I charge fees based on the time taken for the whole matter (including making the appointment, travelling or waiting time and the time needed to prepare the official records) at the rate of £240.00 per hour. Generally speaking, it is likely that the fee for any transaction at least will be in the region of £55 to £60. My practice is not registered for VAT. However, the majority of the matters I work on a fixed fees basis which I can provide before the commencement of any work.

Where legalisation of a document is also required, then the fees charged will be in addition to my fees. Legalisation is the process whereby a Notary’s signature and seal are verified and confirmed by an independent authority. Many countries require the Apostille - a certificate of confirmation provided in the UK by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The FCDO charges will be in addition to the Notarial fees. I usually use a consular agent and the fees for the consular agent will be in addition to the above-mentioned fees. However, it is essential to seek a fee quote of total fees in advance.

Once legalised, the document will usually be accepted (subject to any necessary translation) by the authorities in the destination country as evidence of the matters stated in the document. Allowing more time for legalisation keeps the costs of legalisation down.

Some countries require further legalisation provided that country is not a member of the Hague Apostille convention. I can advise clients of consular agents who can provide this service. Any fees payable for further legalisation will be required to be paid directly to the consular agent.

Finally, I do not release the documents unless  my total fees including expenses have been paid.
